Who Can Witness a NOIM?
In Australia, a NOIM can be witnessed by authorised people such as:
- an authorised celebrant
- a Commissioner for Declarations
- a justice of the peace
- a barrister or solicitor
- a medical practitioner
- a police officer
Good to Know
- the NOIM must still be received at least one calendar month before the marriage date
- the marriage date is not confirmed just because the NOIM has been witnessed
- we confirm the appointment only after the paperwork is received and checked
